On 17 October 2020, at Lam Dong Medical College, the 3rd National Conference on Pediatric Immunology – Allergy took place. There were 200 participants from hospitals, institutes, medical colleges & Universities, immuno-allergy research centers nationwide.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Le Thi Minh Huong – Chairman of the Pediatric Immunology – Allergy Branch (Vietnam Pediatric Association) said: Disease patterns tend to change with the increase of allergic &immunological diseases, affecting children’s health and quality of life. Since Pediatric Immunology – Allergy Branch was established, it has identified the main task is taking care of children’s health in immune disorders field through effectively treating patients, training to improve specialized knowledge for medical staffs and enhancing community’s awareness.

At the plenary session, under the chairmanship of Prof. Nguyen Gia Khanh – President of the Vietnam Pediatric Association; Prof. Dr. Duong Quy Sy – President of Vietnam Association of Sleep Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Le Thi Minh Huong – President of the Pediatric Immunology-Allergy Branch, there were various scientific reports on: Update specific immunotherapy in respiratory allergies in children; update protocol for diagnosis and treatment of anaphylaxis; consensus on gammaglobulin treatment for primary humoral immunodeficiency… In addition, there were 2 satellite seminars on the topic: Respiratory – Allergy; Immune – Autoimmune – Rheumatology.

On October 16, the Organizing Committee opened 2 training courses to update in-depth knowledge with 2 contents: Hypersensitivity reactions to contrast agents and anaphylaxis in the operating room; Primary immunodeficiency for doctors throughout the country.
